Chip Foose - Mothers PowerBall 4Paint Commercial

Hello All- Hope you guys had a happy Memorial Day! I wasn’t able to make it to any events this weekend due to the rain.

Some serious show go-ers out there have cars that have never met the likes of acid rain. I used to be one of those guys until a summer shower dropped out of the sky and swept away my bragging rights.
LOL That’s neither here nor there. The age old question is what can I do to protect me paint from the elements of acid rain?
Well the fact of the matter is acid rain is horrible for your paints finish as the acid will damage your clear coat and begin to eat away at your rich, deep shine.

Here are the does and don’t of keeping your ride clean.

DO-Wax your vehicle often. Keeping a fresh coat of wax will prevent dirt and grime from penetrating your clear coat on those occasions that you can stop dirt for resting on your finish.
DON’T – Wash your ride with a water hose. I’m totally against water hoses. As many of you know- I worked at General Motors on the final line and spray hoses are forbidden in the plant. They wash cars with a drip (rain like system).
WHY
The pressure from the water hose actually acts like a laser and cuts into your clear coat causing spider webs in your paint (the circler cracks seen the clear coat).

I prefer using a waterless agent
GMPSHOWCARS.com sells a waterless carwash that cleans, protects and seals in one! To get your hands on a waterless kit call me at 404-441-1218 or email gmp.eventinfo@gmail.com

DO- Keep a duster kit to frequently remove dust from your parked ride during the day; yes there is a method to the madness when you see old guys dusting their rides every time they pull over. This prevents road grime and dust from setting in.
DON’T – Use any old rag to dust your ride. Only a duster or a microfiber material- anything else will drag the dirt across your finish and worsen the affects.
DO- Use a gum eraser kit on your ride if you should encounter the rain. These erasers can cost up to $50 bucks but they are well worth it as they dig dip into your clear to work grime out of the paint.
Try it out and thank me later.
You’re all set now. Use these tips and I’m sure you will get plenty of complements on your paint job!
Also check out Meguires and Mothers products as they make some of the best waxes on the market.
Give your ride a 7 stage wax job at least once a year to keep her slicked up!

IRON BRED MOTORCYCLE CLUB

Hello GMPSHOWCAR Fans! I've missed a day or two of blogging but have some interesting updates.
Today I will be show some love to one of the hottest motorcycle clubs in the country “Iron bred MC”.
This weekend I had the pleasure of attending Iron Bred MC’s 3 Anniversary Party- If you’re a solo rider and you ride a nice v-twin; holla at these dudes!
It all went down in Atlanta at the Atrium off Memorial drive. More than 4,000 people came out to show their love for the club. I've know some of the members for 4 plus years and I can certainly vouch that they are stand up guys. This club isn’t just about riding; it's about supporting the community.

From an outsiders view the club is all about business. Iron Bred MC’s events always draw the largest crowd of any club in the city.

When you think large crowds- you usually think- unorganized. WRONG, IBMC’s events are always highly organized. As an event producer- I can say that the clubs events usually run like clockwork and they leave the crowd wanting more.
CHECK EM OUT!!!
This year’s event was crazy! To learn more about this group visit them on the web.

WHEN THINGS GO WRONG ROAD RASH OUCH!!!

Yes Sir, yes in Dede!
There are only two types of riders.
THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN DOWN AND THOSE THAT ARE GOING DOWN.
Let's take a moment for our fallen Conrad's.
-----------

Ive been down a few times. I too know the pain of taking a shower with road rash. Picking out the stones of gravel and asphalt that seem to get buried in your skin after you hit the deck.
One think about it. Going down is bound to happen if your on 2 wheels.
I don't know whats worst; the fall or the price of fixing your bike.

My last fall was silly. Boy did I have it coming to me- You know what everyone says about always respecting the bike and when you feel to confident don't ride...

Yeah, it was one of those days I felt good and confident and decided I would show out in the parking lot with a couple of rolling burning outs and wheelies.
Geoff Morris can sometimes be cocky (Foolish). I hopped on my modded GSXR-1000 with no jacket or helmet.
You know the bad a$$es you see wheeling with nothing on.
Things were cool and I decided I wanted to get one more hop. I was running out of room coming down from the wheelie and made just enough play to wiggle the tire. I lost the bike and a bunch of skin.
I say that, to say this; stunting isn't wrong- Just take the proper steps.

1) Get a cage for your bike- Don't stunt with out protection for your investment.
2) Always wear a lid. I know it looks cool to stunt with a backward baseball cap but always, always, always protect your skull. If not for you; for your love ones.
3) Have someone around for help. Never stunt alone.... I see guys do it all the time. No matter how reckless you are; make sure someone is available to help you if you need it.

With that being said. Enjoy this Video

THE 3 RULE OF RE-FUELING

FYI- Take care of your ride! 3 MUST KNOW FUEL RULES
If you’re any type of friend look out for your buddies… There’s a lot to knowledge that we have as automotive junkies that regular folks don’t know.
Just this week I witness 3 of my friends make near fatal discussion for their cars.
How might you ask? Making bad choice fueling their vehicles- Please allow me to elaborate.
Subject A- My first buddy who’s name will remain unknown; left the city to visit me at my home about 45 minutes out. This buddy happens to drive an 8 cylinder truck with a performance engine. He’s is by no stretch of the imagination a car buff. I witness him pump 87 octane into his car. You know I almost laid an egg. I had to explain to him why he can’t burn such a light fuel in his truck. He would have never known better had I not been with him that day. I m sure many of you know someone making this same mistake. FACT: (Large engines and high performance engines require high grade gas in many cases. These gas burns at a higher temperature with allows more powerful combustion to power the engine.)
Subject B-My second buddy whose name I shall not divulge; stops for gas on our way out to a party Saturday night. He goes to a gas station that the gas truck is currently refueling.
Huge NO, NO. Allow me to explain what happens here- As the gas stations stock aide is being replenished all of the lose debris in stock aide tank flushed through the fresh gas; heightening your chances for dirty gas. (MY TIP)- What 30 to 45 minutes after the refueling truck is gone to pump your gas- this will give the debris an opportunity to settle back to the bottom.
My last friend whose name will also remain anonymous stopped by to visit Sunday. When I came to her car to greet her I realize that her gas hand is on “E”. I frantically shouted out- You’ve gotta take care of that. She replies “its cool- I do it all the time” WRONG- This is never cool.
All of the trash in your gas tank rest at the bottom of the tank. When you allow your gas to get low your fuel filter is more likely to get clogged up with trash and eventually choke your fuel pump to death (RIP)
If this is a bad habit of yours- Undo it immediately.
Remember- Knowledge isn’t worth anything if you can share it. Tell your friends these 3 fuel rules. You may save them a headache and they’ll love you for it!
Ride on a full tank,
Geoff Morris

House of Kolor motorcycle painting

I LIKE MY PAINT WET!

What you didn’t know about paint jobs!
This article is designed to help you know what you really want to achieve when you painting your vehicle.
Every since I started driving I loved fresh paint jobs on cars. I think I had 2 or 3 different paint jobs during my high school days. While other kids were spending their money going to the movies or buying sneakers; I worked hard to ensure that no one would shine harder than me in the summer time.
As I got older I became more interested in the process of turning a dull paint into a popping eye catcher. I began reading literature on painting vehicles and hung around paint shops to keep me ear to the ground and learn what I could. About a year ago I got serious in my quest for knowledge and set down with my cousin (a paint guru) and asked him to walk me through painting my motorcycle. After laying the bike down; the body was in horrible shape and I wasn’t sure if she could be resurrected. After lots of hard work with fiber glass and sand paper I got the body parts smooth as glass. As a good buddy of mine (Chris Mc Nair- A plus Classics) says- It not in the paint its in the (body) prep work.
Any real painter will agree that it’s not the paint your shooting but the canvas your shooting on. After my bike was fixed better than new we began the paint process. Many people don’t know that paint is done in stages. My first stage was a lime base and then rich silver which faded toward the tail of the bike. This base color scheme created a color burn effect on my supersonic blue pearl paint.
Next we began to tape off the areas for the color contrast and strips. You may not know it but painting requires much taping and stenciling; this to ensure perfection while shooting paint.
We lay down a nasty two tone pattern of rich silver and blue pearl. The pearl in the blue project a hazes sky blue look up close and a deep sonic blue from a distance.
Lastly, we piled on the clear; clear coat maybe the single most important ingredient in the shooting process. It protects the paint and allows deep shine to lay over the paint. You should wetsand your clear coat for maximum result. Many folks skip this step because it is both dangerous and time consuming.
You have to pay close attention and do it piece by piece. Sanding to deep in one location will result in burning through the paint and ruining the paint job.

Once you’ve completed these steps you will be ready to wipe her down in the parking lot and take on the complements.
Like I said I love paint some much paint a vehicle just about every year. The smell of the paint put a smile on my face.

This is just a brief over view of what happens to your ride when you send it off to be shot!
It gets much, much more technical- If you’d like to look into paint and the how 2’s of the game, check our www.ppg.com or www.houseofkolor.com
Enjoy the ride and Keep em clean!

RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD

Rubber Meets the Road...
No matter how much horsepower your making- It’s no good if it can’t make traction on the ground.
There are many options for tires: Low tread, high tread, race take offs, drag radials, etc... These styles are made by hundreds of different manufacturers.
Most people do one of the following when making a tire selection:
A) Buy the tires all of their friends buy
B) Buy the cheapest tires
C) Buy the advertised tires
All of the purchase methods are incorrect. You may not have time to try out every type of tire in the lineup. That why you have friends like Geoff Morris who can lend valuable personal experience that will help you make the proper choice.
When picking out a new set of rubbers you want to consider three things:
THE BIG 3
DURABLITY, PERFORMANCE & STYLE
Durability is important. I used to be a trendy tire shopper that would purchase the most expensive brand (the flashy set that everyone talks about). Over time, I found myself replacing tires quiet often. Why? Because although my tires had great tread and excellence curve performance; they weren’t durable.
Buy tires that will stand up to abuse. This can be daily driving abuse, drifting abuse or track abuse. No matter the type of tire you’re in the market for; their ability to withstand abuse should be your number one concern.
Secondly is Performance. Buy a tire that will perform; think back to when you were a kid. You got those expensive running shoes and you thought you could run faster, jump higher and stop on a dime. This is the same with tires. You may slap on a new set of tires and their new appearance may make you believe that their helping your ride perform better. Don’t trust the feeling, trust the track.
If you race- Test the new tires time against the old tires time
If you drive on the streets find a driving course to check out your cars ability to counter and stop.
The proof is always in the pudding

Finally my favorite area to check out with buying tires is the style. A good set of rubber can make your car look a thousand times better. Whether you’re going for the classy look of the aggressive look; make sure you check out all of your options thoroughly and find the tires that make you ride look the nicest.
Once their balance on the rims take your hand and rub it across the whiskers on the tire; Sort of a christening. Once you ride up the block those whiskers will be gone and your tire will be on their way to being broken in.
I hope you consider THE BIG 3; next time you go to purchase tires for your ride.
If you’re in the Atlanta, GA area and need tires give us a call or send an email to 404-441-1218 gmp.eventinfo@gmail.com
I will save you up to 35% on any set you’re interested in.
Have fun out there and remember. Happy tires have tire shine on em!

SOUND MATTERS

A major part of why we love to drive is the awesome sound we get from our cars.
Acceleration and downshifting are like ice-cream with a cherry on top when you consider the sound effects that come along with driving.
I sat down with some buddies and compiled a long list of the best sounding cars of all time. Here is a rundown of our top three picks.
Coming in first place was our beloved king cobra mustang. The 2004 SVT Cobra Mustang comes in at the top of the chart because of this deep bellow. This is created by the 8.5 compression ratio, dual overhead cams in a four valve motor. The bad boy has a 90 mm stroke that that gives the tiny 281 a robust sound under the hood. Ford racing is famous for making great power and sound out of small blocks and this one is hands down the best sounding car ever built.
If you prefer a more aggressive sound then you’ll love our number two pick. This car sounds like Armageddon when its twin turbo V10 motor begins charging. The 2007 Hennessey Viper is definitely one of the fiercest sounding cars ever to roll over the asphalt. This ride isn’t all talk either- Usually compared to Chevy’s Z06 and Ford’s Shelby Super Snake. The Hennessey Viper holds the title of being the fastest car on the market and holds the Maxamile record. This car sounds so good you’ll never what to turn on the radio while driving.
Lastly, if you’re a modest sound guy- meaning you like the car quiet when your taken it easy and loud when you’re driving aggressive; you’ve gotta check our Porsche Carrera GT. This little monster takes no prisoners. This car is by far the most expensive car on the list. When it debuted in 2003 the car had a waiting list (no guarantee for purchase) of $600,000. While royalty and celebrities fault to own one of these highly exclusive Porsche many of the buyers had not heard the car. Let me tell you- I’ve seen one of these on the track and they sound like a million bubble bees. The car is insanely tuned. As rich as the sound of this car is-it can’t keep up with the cars speed. This car has and Indy car sound and personally. If you can afford the price tag I would strongly advise buying and driving one of these down the Pacific Coast.
Let’s face it. These are just a few of the remarkable sounding cars out there.
So you don’t have the money for one of these. No problem, here are three of my favorite exhaust companies. Check out their reviews and find the right setup for your ride.
BORLA
MAGNA-FLOW
BASSANI

Drive em hard and have fun sounding off.

TATT, TATT, TATTED UP!

Car/Motorcycle Tattoos
A major part of our culture.
Cars and motorcycles have always been associated with the cool, rebel characters. These people chose to do things their way; instead of abiding by the guidelines of the majority. This is not a fake persona of hobbyist of the culture; this is a true reflection of how many of us feel. We put a lot of time and energy into standing out. Not to get attention because we’re attention whores or insecure but to show the world why we are different and special. We express our feeling, thoughts, ideals and even beliefs through our cars and bikes. Those who dare not live our lifestyles look to us for guidance on living free and enjoying the moment. This is a fundamental idealism of hobbyist. We’re not afraid to do things our ways and we want the world to know we go against the grain. We’re seen as super hero’s to those who are afraid to step outside the box. This is proven in every movie you’ve seen with the tough guy- (car/bike guy) who has his own agenda. One of the main ways we express ourselves and our standout lifestyles is through tattoos. Tattoos are a way to define who you are in the culture. I’ve seen all types of car/motorcycle tattoos; from pistons and v-twin skeletons to Rat Fink running off the road in a 32 deuce coupe. As diverse as our love for automobiles; are our tattoos. Old and young hobbyist a like carry tattoos on their arms to fame the culture. Take a look at some of these Tatts!

Do you have car/bike tattoos? If so what?
What better way to live life than a speed junkie- everyone wants to go fast but many never will…

RIDE E-Z

The other day I was talking to a buddy on the phone when he told me that 15 riders have gone down this riding season in our city.

WOW

I thought to myself; whats going on? Why are so many riders dropping out?

I concluded these three reasons:

Harder not smarter: On a sport bike it's only natural to want to pin back the throttle. The feeling of flying through the air at 180mph is un-life like and additive. After high speed riding becomes comfortable; riders want to pick up even more speed. I'm guilty of this but I always know when to say when.

I call it playing smarter not harder- Whenever I blast off, I know that I have to begin slowing down when I approach curves with exit ramps near by. No matter how mild traffic is you can always run into a unexpected stopping situation approaching an exit ramp. (the city of Atlanta's always working on the bridges with causes traffic to be backed up- even at 3am.) when your flying down the hwy at 190mph- the exit ramp traffic can catch you off guard. Keep your head up and eyes peeled for this type of thing when riding.

Experience: Biking used to be a life style chosen by a small percentage of the population (hints 1%er) Now everyone and their barber has a motorcycle- many of these riders are new to the culture and maybe weekend warriors at best. A pack of en experience riders is never a good thing. A few weeks ago I saw a group of new riders carrying female passengers. The riders were obviously new because they had no order. They could not make stop lights or even pass cars together. To me this spells DANGER. I never took a riding class but I learn to ride with veterans not a bunch of guys that bought their bikes last weekend. These new riders can be dangerous to themselves an others- If you see a rider making danger mistakes on the road, drop em a few pointers

The Street

Lastly the street, Ive got a good buddy (Teflon, Track Star Racing) that runs a Ducati. I never knew the importance of riding safe and running hard on the track oppose to the street until visiting the track with Teflon.

The street has pot holes, cars and police to dodge while the track is all about you and your bike.

If your a speed demon like me go to the track when you get that itch... You'll learn alot about your riding abilities and will respect the streets more.

I wanted to bring up these points to help keep riders safe this season. Have fun and ride hard but use good judgement... There's a time and place for everything!

Burn Rubber,

Geoff Morris
