SOUND MATTERS

A major part of why we love to drive is the awesome sound we get from our cars.
Acceleration and downshifting are like ice-cream with a cherry on top when you consider the sound effects that come along with driving.
I sat down with some buddies and compiled a long list of the best sounding cars of all time. Here is a rundown of our top three picks.
Coming in first place was our beloved king cobra mustang. The 2004 SVT Cobra Mustang comes in at the top of the chart because of this deep bellow. This is created by the 8.5 compression ratio, dual overhead cams in a four valve motor. The bad boy has a 90 mm stroke that that gives the tiny 281 a robust sound under the hood. Ford racing is famous for making great power and sound out of small blocks and this one is hands down the best sounding car ever built.
If you prefer a more aggressive sound then you’ll love our number two pick. This car sounds like Armageddon when its twin turbo V10 motor begins charging. The 2007 Hennessey Viper is definitely one of the fiercest sounding cars ever to roll over the asphalt. This ride isn’t all talk either- Usually compared to Chevy’s Z06 and Ford’s Shelby Super Snake. The Hennessey Viper holds the title of being the fastest car on the market and holds the Maxamile record. This car sounds so good you’ll never what to turn on the radio while driving.
Lastly, if you’re a modest sound guy- meaning you like the car quiet when your taken it easy and loud when you’re driving aggressive; you’ve gotta check our Porsche Carrera GT. This little monster takes no prisoners. This car is by far the most expensive car on the list. When it debuted in 2003 the car had a waiting list (no guarantee for purchase) of $600,000. While royalty and celebrities fault to own one of these highly exclusive Porsche many of the buyers had not heard the car. Let me tell you- I’ve seen one of these on the track and they sound like a million bubble bees. The car is insanely tuned. As rich as the sound of this car is-it can’t keep up with the cars speed. This car has and Indy car sound and personally. If you can afford the price tag I would strongly advise buying and driving one of these down the Pacific Coast.
Let’s face it. These are just a few of the remarkable sounding cars out there.
So you don’t have the money for one of these. No problem, here are three of my favorite exhaust companies. Check out their reviews and find the right setup for your ride.
BORLA
MAGNA-FLOW
BASSANI

Drive em hard and have fun sounding off.
