Chip Foose - Mothers PowerBall 4Paint Commercial

Hello All- Hope you guys had a happy Memorial Day! I wasn’t able to make it to any events this weekend due to the rain.

Some serious show go-ers out there have cars that have never met the likes of acid rain. I used to be one of those guys until a summer shower dropped out of the sky and swept away my bragging rights.
LOL That’s neither here nor there. The age old question is what can I do to protect me paint from the elements of acid rain?
Well the fact of the matter is acid rain is horrible for your paints finish as the acid will damage your clear coat and begin to eat away at your rich, deep shine.

Here are the does and don’t of keeping your ride clean.

DO-Wax your vehicle often. Keeping a fresh coat of wax will prevent dirt and grime from penetrating your clear coat on those occasions that you can stop dirt for resting on your finish.
DON’T – Wash your ride with a water hose. I’m totally against water hoses. As many of you know- I worked at General Motors on the final line and spray hoses are forbidden in the plant. They wash cars with a drip (rain like system).
WHY
The pressure from the water hose actually acts like a laser and cuts into your clear coat causing spider webs in your paint (the circler cracks seen the clear coat).

I prefer using a waterless agent
GMPSHOWCARS.com sells a waterless carwash that cleans, protects and seals in one! To get your hands on a waterless kit call me at 404-441-1218 or email gmp.eventinfo@gmail.com

DO- Keep a duster kit to frequently remove dust from your parked ride during the day; yes there is a method to the madness when you see old guys dusting their rides every time they pull over. This prevents road grime and dust from setting in.
DON’T – Use any old rag to dust your ride. Only a duster or a microfiber material- anything else will drag the dirt across your finish and worsen the affects.
DO- Use a gum eraser kit on your ride if you should encounter the rain. These erasers can cost up to $50 bucks but they are well worth it as they dig dip into your clear to work grime out of the paint.
Try it out and thank me later.
You’re all set now. Use these tips and I’m sure you will get plenty of complements on your paint job!
Also check out Meguires and Mothers products as they make some of the best waxes on the market.
Give your ride a 7 stage wax job at least once a year to keep her slicked up!
Geoff Morris- Get your shine on!
